A community-supported nonprofit organization is dedicated to saving open space for active farmlands, maximizing access to local produce, and educating the public about the benefits of continuing agricultural traditions. ROCKLAND COUNTY–BASED GROUP AWARDED LARGEST 2010 HUDSON RIVER VALLEY GREENWAY GRANT TO SUPPORT LOCAL, SUSTAINABLE SMALL FARMS
New City, NY (November 5, 2010) —The Rockland Farm Alliance (www.rocklandfarm.org) is proud to announce that it has been awarded a grant from the Hudson River Valley Greenway, the largest amount given to a community project in 2010, which will be used to utilize open space for active farmlands, maximize access to local produce, and educate the public about the benefits of continuing agricultural traditions.
